Thanksgiving Desserts: Melrose Has All The Beautiful Sweets For Your Feasts

With Thanksgiving just around the bend, if you’re on the hook for dessert, you’ll get the sweet treats you crave – and guests will drool over – right here on Melrose Ave. From pies and eclairs to ice cream, cakes, and acai – you’ll find them all right here.

Pie isn’t the only choice for a stellar dessert come Thanksgiving. What about ice cream? And not just any old pint of ice cream, but an incredible creation from Cold Rolled, such as oreo pumpkin pie ice cream! According to staff member, Melissa, that is a “limited edition just for month of November that contains pumpkin ice cream with an oreo inside, graham crackers, whipped cream, and an actual slice of pie on top with a condensed milk drizzle.” Yum.

At the charming Viennese bakery, La Chouquette, staff members say there are a variety of fall treats on the menu. “We have apple, pumpkin, and pecan pies, and there will be specialty eclairs as well, such as pecan éclair.” Chocolate ganache, leche rose with rosemary, or vanilla with berry are among the other éclair filling choices this season.

At the cozy Le Crème Café, pumpkin macarons are among the items on the menu for dessert. But the most healing and tasty treats this Thanksgiving may be the house special peanut butter and chocolate cookies infused with CBD oil, according to Stoli, the café’s owner. “We also have gluten-free German chocolate cookies, pecan pie, chocolate brownies, and 20 different gluten free macaroons, along with cannoli.”

Decisions, decisions. Pumpkin Dulce de Leche Cake or truffles? The cake is a luscious vanilla spiced cake packed with roasted pumpkin ganache, dulce de leche, and milk crumbs – all topped with crisp toasted pepitas. Or bring a box of Pumpkin Dulce de Leche truffles – made from the pumpkin dulce cake mixed with roasted pumpkin pure and dulce chips all coated in sweet and zesty cinnamon “sand.” And plenty of delicious non-pumpkin offerings too!

For an unexpected Thanksgiving sweet treat, bring home a box of up to 40 Ubatuba Acai’s Nutella-filled empanadas. Or, bowls of acai itself, which feels like a perfectly-Californian dessert. Available toppings include fresh fruit, nuts, hemp seeds, cacao nibs, and more.

Muffins or donuts? Or how about both? Maple-iced or orange-iced cake donuts have seasonal flair, but then so do the apple-filled donuts topped with cinnamon crumbs and the Old-Fashioned-style maple-glazed. When it comes to muffins – the perfect treat for a pre-Thanksgiving breakfast – there’s pumpkin nut and cranberry orange that fit the holiday just right.
